Technique Brocatelle
The term "Brocatelle" in Longwy is a peculiarity in the name of this technique, found in Bordeaux and with great mastery in Luneville at the end of the 19th century. It seems that this name has not been used by other factories.

The principle is that of enamels but without surrounded under the glaze. The pose is done directly on the background, the color of which is often white to paint the decorations and a powder coating, a polishing and a gold pattern are placed at the last fire on the glaze which brings delicate and elegant illuminations that give the depth to the drawing.

We will find this technique during the "Art Deco" period but more minimalist on pasta pink, blue ... with childish or animal subjects very naive for popular and economical use.
