Municipal museum of Longwy
This museum was initially entrusted to Jacques Peiffer and then for many years Annie Henry figure emblematic of old earthenware Longwy who has claimed his rights to retirement for a few years.

I nstalled in the old military bakery, the Museum of Enamels and Earthenware of Longwy presents the most prestigious creations of the factories of the city, which are organized in two large sets: earthenware, produced starting from 1798, and enamels , appeared in the early 1870s ...

For the first, in addition to the utilitarian services that made the reputation of the earthenware, you will find decorative works of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries (sculptures, majolica, barbotine).

The enamel collections on faience will allow you to appreciate the richness and complexity of this unique know- how in the world. Through these works, you will discover Longwy's links to the major European artistic trends, from the 1870s to today, and the way we maintain this living heritage.

The Museum also holds works by the sculptor Jean-Paul Aubé (Longwy 1837 - Capbreton 1916) and the painter Paul-Georges Klein (Longwy 1909 - Arles 1994), as well as one of the most important collections of irons in the world.

For 2021 the Museum will join the former Banque de France in Longwy-Bas.
