Current factories
Since the judicial liquidation in 1977 of the old earthenware factory of d'Huart, the trunk has made branches including the recovery of some of the personnel of the historic pottery to ensure the perenniality and with ups and downs following the buyers the last of which is Martin PIETRI in 2016.
- 1976 Christian LECLERCQ set up the "Bois des Seigneurs" workshop, which in 1988 became the "Emaux d'Art de Longw".
- 1978 Jacques PEIFFER goes up the Faience factory "Saint Jean l'Aigle".
- Strikes in the historic factory make that part of the workers created in 1982 the "Emaux des Recollets" a SCOP which will become in 1996 "Les recollets - Faïencerie d'art des émaux de Longwy", it is taken in 2016 by David MOUQUET and in liquidation judiciary on October 17, 2019
- 1999 Joël BARTHELEMY who is a former technician of the historic pottery will create the "Emaux de Saintignon".
- 2008 Thierry HURST creates "Faïencerie artisanale Emaux de Longwy".
Here we are in Longwy with 6 pottery of which to date 4 in activity and 1 in liquidation judiciary and 1 of which we do not know what happens to it. There is for all the tastes and for all the prices with more or less quality in the manufacture of the enamels surrounded and also the fact that some are oriented towards enamels not surrounding which lighten of 3 to 4 firings and the time because the pieces are simply soaked in an enamel bath with a touch of gold highlighting. This was in the 90's a very rich production. But as ordinary people do not differentiate the enamelled technique !!! this confuses the understanding of the price differential according to the technique used and a commercial way of using the term EMAUX.
