Trademarks handwritten 19th and 20th century
These marks are painted with a brush in black or gold for pieces in "Bleu de Sèvres". They are various and varied according to the hand of the artist who posed them and seem to appear around 1875 until the end of the 19th century except for the references Form, Decor and initials of the booster until the middle of the 20th century. These marks refer to the name LONGWY, the geographical location, the shape number and the decor number. They are mainly on enamelled pieces and can be accompanied by a hollow mark. Why these marks while the technique of printing exited already? Surely for a question of speed knowing that the decorations of enamels were as numerous as the forms and that it would have been very complicated and surely expensive to print everything ?!
